"The decisions made, including the proposed 2.5% increase in business tax for dispensaries and the number of dispensing facilities increasing from three to four total, will be up for public vote in November..Other amendments include the addition of six new, non-dispensing facilities which could include but are not limited to; cultivation and manufacturing and would not include public visits. Whether we like it or not, things are changing for Berkeley and other cities around the State."
The city of Oakland may allow four large-scale cannabis farms and is considering raising the number of medical cannabis dispensary permits from four to six. "My gut instinct said this would be a great revenue and job generator for the city", she said. "But after running the numbers, I went 'Wow, that's really a job generator'"
